Special bites for the fright night

The scariest night of the year is nearly here! Set your spooky spirit free and celebrate Halloween in the wildest way as city restaurants gear up to make the day special for you.

 From ghoulish decorations to special dishes with unique names,all these and more are part of the celebrations this year. 

La Bodega restaurant in Khan Market has gone the extras mile and used cactus skin, avocado leaf, and Mexican hibiscus flower for its Halloween special menu. Savour Black bean Tamal in banana leaf with amarillito mole or the Pumpkin and shrimp soup, with chipotle chili appetiser. Try Lamb Mixiote Hidalgo style with potatoes and vegetables or Ancho chili stuffed with dry fruits in nogada sauce for mains and finally finish on a sweet note with the Pan de muerto stuffed with cream, served with vanilla sauce or the Hibiscus gelatin with cheese mousse.

Rodeo, the Mexican restaurant in Connaught Place, has dishes like Dracula’s Favorite Grilled Chicken in Red Sauce and Stuffed Jack ‘O’ Lantern in addition to their regular menu. Also, some spooky punches and creepily presented deserts are there to complete your meal. Halloween special mocktails like Wrong Turn, The Green Ghost, White Witch, Zombie Punch, and Vampire Juice add zest to the list. There is also a surprise for the winner of the best outfit. 

Raasta, in Hauz Khas offers special munchies like Baby Mummy Fingers and Graveyard Cheese Cake ghoulishly decorated with spiders, frogs and ghosts! 

Several restaurants and bar are celebrating the night by giving interesting names to it. Like for Monkey Bar it is Fright Night. Bite out of the Bloody Waffles and Devilled Ribs, and celebrate the night with our Spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake.”

Popular Chinese Restaurant Royal China has also introduced a special menu of tasty yet whacky dishes like Dragon appetiser (which is actually lobster) and Flaming Chicken. Special drinks Wasabi Bloody Mary and their special Smoked Martini adds to the evening’s celebrations. 

Tapas, a Gurgaon-based restaurant, in their horrific menu have included Bloody Ghoulish Soup, Chicken Wings in a Scary Sauce, Crab Cakes with Horse Radish and Bisque, Chicken Liver Bruschetta, Pork Salami Bruschetta, Spiced Beef Silver Bruschetta, Skeleton Pork Ribs with BBQ Sauce, Pork Chops with Apple Sauce, Pumpkin Paella, Pumpkin Pie and Bloody Virgin Sangria.
