Located on Ulsoor Road, ‘Carnival de Goa’ is one of the only  Goan restaurants in the City.

It sits a floor above ‘The Grill House’ and promises to satisfy anyone’s craving for tasty seafood.

The bright, open and vibrantly-coloured hangout, with a wrought iron balcao (Portuguese for balcony), sunlight-yellow walls, Portuguese-inspired mosaic-tiled tables, boat shaped crockery, wait staff sporting beach-style shirts and live Goan music on weekends add to the perfect Goan ambience.

Guests can either choose to dine within the restaurant or al fresco on the terrace.

Since it is always the food that gives a restaurant its unique character, ‘Carnival de
Goa’ has taken the utmost care to ensure that diners would be humming with pleasure by the end of their meal.

Dishes like ‘chicken cafreal’, ‘chicken xacuti’, ‘Goan roast beef’, ‘Goan fish curry’, ‘Goan sausage pulao’, ‘mutton rissoles’ and ‘beef enrolado’ (beef stuffed with Goan sausage) are on the menu.

Dessert like ‘bebinca’ and caramel custard are a speciality. But the ‘catch’ of the day is the lunch ‘thali’ comprising ‘bhat’ (steamed rice), ‘hooman’ (Goan shrimp curry) ‘kishmur’ (dry shrimp and coconut salad) ‘shaak’ or ‘bhaji’ (seasonal vegetable prepared dry-style) ‘tavlele nuste’ (seasonal shallow-fried fish) clams prepared with coconut and solkadi (digestive kokum drink). there is a preparation for vegetarians as well.

‘Carnival de Goa’ is open from 12 pm to 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm to 11.00 pm.
