Shubang stars for Vidyanikethan school

An all-round performance from Shubang Hegde (146 n.o. and 4/15) steered Vidyanikethan to semifinals as they beat School Vivekananda by 59 runs in the KSCA under-14 (Div I) tournament for BTR Shield here.

Batting first, Vidyanikethan rode on Shubang’s ton to pile up 251 for six in 50 overs.
The Vidyanikethan boys needed 138 balls in his personal sojourn hitting 14 boundaries.
KS Gagan (45) played an important role as he helped his team build a steady partnership with Shubang,

He then followed his batting brilliance with fine bowling to help his side bundle out School Vivekananda for 185 in 40.5 overs.

Bishop Cotton Boy’s School: 231/6 in 50 overs (Emmanuel 59, Vinay 29, Aneesh 29, Ayush Shetty 79 n.o.; Arvind 2-64) bt Vidyashlip Academy: 172/8 in 50 overs (Arjun 43, Arvind 30; Shrikar 2-40, Raghav K 3-18).

St Joseph’s Indian High School: 81 all out in 40.2 overs (Shahid Shariff 6-13, Sanil Navar 3-7) lost to St Joseph’s Boy’s High School: 84/2 in 34.2 overs (Hemankith Reddy 33 n.o., Pranav Kumar 30 n.o.).
