SWR, Corporation Bank enter final

An inspired bowling performance helped South Western Railway Sports Association, Hubli, trounce KPTCL Sports Organisation by nine wickets and enter the final of the KSCA Group II (Division II) tournament here on Wednesday.

Nizamuddin (4/39) and Anand D (3/22) shared seven wickets between them to bundle out KPTCL to a paltry 112 in 31.4 overs. SWR then knocked off the target with ease in just 15.4 overs. Naveen Matti top scored with 44 while Sarfaraz remained unbeaten on 40.

Corporation Bank win

In the final on Friday, SWR will face Corporation Bank, who beat Triton Sports Club, Mysore, by eight wickets in the other last four encounter.  Batting first, Triton SC managed only 156 all out in 37.2 overs. Vinoo Prasad was the wrecker in chief, claiming five for 25. Kishore Kamath (3/36) and Pramod Kamath (2/27) were also among wickets.

In reply, Rohit Gowda slammed a fine unbeaten 89 to steer his side cross the victory margin as they won the contest in 21.4 overs. For Triton SC, Naveen M claimed two for 61.
