Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President R V Deshpande has urged the State Election Commission to direct the authorities concerned to continue the process of inclusion of eligible voters in the electoral list till the last date for making nominations for elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.
In a letter to the commission, the copies of which were released to the press on Wednesday, Deshpande said several eligible persons have applied for enrolment of their names as voters. However, he claimed that the authorities were not taking steps to update the rolls. The last date for filing nominations for the BBMP polls falls on February 7.
