M'luru lass shares top spot in Commerce

Rashmitha, the Mangaluru lass, has all the reasons to feel over the moon as she has emerged the State topper in Commerce in PU board examinations.

Rashmitha, a student of Sharada PU College, Mangaluru, has secured the first position in the State, in Commerce, with 593 marks out of 600 (98.83 per cent). She has scored 100 marks in Business Studies, Accountancy, Statistics and Basic Math each while 94 and 99 marks in English and Sanskrit respectively.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, she said she aspires to be a Chartered Accountant and is planning to get into a prestigious college to pursue an integrated course in Commerce, where she can have her BCom and CA courses together.

Rashmitha is the daughter of B Purushottam, an entrepreneur and B Shashikala, a homemaker, based at Bejai in Mangaluru.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, she said though she did not expect the first position in Commerce in the State, she had counted the total which was closer to 593.
She further said she was extremely happy with her achievement and for making her institution proud.

She said she studied for about six to seven hours during the exam days. During the rest of the days, though she did not have a fixed schedule, she carried out her studies, until she got the things right. Also, she did not attend any coaching classes, she said and added that she was attentive in the classes and discussed with her friends about the lessons.

Her hobbies are cooking, drawing and dancing.
