Delhi Police have filed four FIRs after firing in the presence of Aam Aadmi Party MLA from south Delhi’s RK Puram, Parmila Tokas, outside a temple in south Delhi’s Munirka on Friday. One of the FIRs is on the basis of a complaint of Parmila, police said on Saturday.

Parmila has accused Munirka-resident Narendra Tokas of threatening, abusing and insulting her modesty while returning home after attending a religious gathering at Baba Gangnath Temple.

Her husband Dheeraj Kumar Tokas was also involved in a scuffle with Narendra.

Temple property
It is also alleged that Narendra has made several attempts in the past to grab the property of the temple.

However, Narendra has also filed a complaint against Dheeraj, and accused him and his accomplices of threatening and abusing him.

On his complaint, an FIR was registered against Dheeraj and his men.

Other FIRs
Two more FIRs were registered as a call was made to the police control room about firing at the temple at 8 pm.

But both groups have been accusing each other of firing.

The fourth FIR was related to theft of a digital video recorder of CCTV cameras installed at the temple.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Dheeraj said they had gone to attend a religious gathering at the temple around 7.30 am.

‘Hurled abuses’
While the MLA was walking towards her car to return home, Narendra allegedly blocked her way and hurled abuses at her.

“When Parmila objected to his indecent behaviour, Narendra took out a pistol and began threatening her. When I intervened, he entered into a scuffle with me,” said Dheeraj.
Police said the argument broke out between the two parties over the issue of changing the drinking glasses at the temple.

Narendra was arguing with the temple’s priest to change the glasses when the AAP MLA and her husband interfered and took the priest’s side.

“A few hours after the AAP MLA filed an FIR against Narendra, he too filed his complaint and alleged that her husband, Chattar Singh and Shibban Pehelwan abused him, threatened him and stopped his way. They also tore off his shirt in the argument,” said a police officer.

Police have found a cartridge and an empty shell outside the temple.

Eyewitness account
An eyewitness told police that it was Shibban’s son Virender who shot twice in the air while he was looking for Narendra.

One of them even made a video of the firing on his mobile phone and later, gave it to police.

Dheeraj, however, has denied his association with Shibban or his son.

Several teams from Vasant Vihar police station are investigating the matter.
