Nicollet bags first title of the season

Overnight leader Sharmila Nicollet carded one-under 71 in the final round to win the 15th leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour at the Jaypee Greens on Friday. It was her first title the season.

Sharmila finished with a three round total of 212, while Amandeep Drall finished with  215 to take the second position, three strokes behind Sharmila. Order of Merit leader Vani Kapoor and Kolkata’s Neha Tripathi finished with identical totals of 220 to tie for the third.

Sharmila played a bogey-free front nine with birdies on the 6th and 8th holes. However, she could not sustain the momentum in the back nine and carded three bogies on the 10th, 12th and 15th. Birdies on the 11th and 13th saved the day for her. The Bengaluru pro finished with a total score of 212 after 54 holes.

Rookie Amandeep carded one over 73 in the final round. She played a blemish-free front nine with birdies on the 1st and 5th holes but dropped shots in the 12th, 13th and 17th holes.

She has been impressive in her rookie year. This is her fourth runners up finish along with two wins this season.
