Heavy rains that lashed the city for more than an hour brought respite from the heat, on Friday.
The sudden downpour, accompanied by thunder and lightning, started at 2.45 pm in the city and continued for more than 45 minutes.
Various parts of the city was left waterlogged, causing inconveniences to the commuters.It is after a long gap that various parts of the district have received good rains.
Halebeedu received rains for half an hour, while Arkalgud, Belur, Holenarasipur and other places received good rains. However, no damage to property was reported.
