K'taka plans exclusive Women's Park

Karnataka Government Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department Rathna Prabha has urged women entrepreneurs to be more aggressive in their pursuit of business opportunities and take advantage of state policies.

On the occasion of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) celebrated world over on November 19, Prabha called upon all Women Entrepreneurs Associations in the state to form a consortium to develop an exclusive Women’s Park with world-class facilities run and planned by women.

She said 100 acres of the 350 acres earmarked by KIADB in Harohalli Industrial Area should be used for this, to make a model industrial area for the whole nation.


State Bank of India Chief General Manager Rajni Mishra spoke about the ease of business with SBI and highlighted the concessions offered by the bank. She spoke about the need to change perceptions and apprehensions that are attached to women entrepreneurs in the banking sectors.

The state government has formed a Women’s Guidance Cell with representation from various associations to take women grievances further to the government and address the solutions for successful implementation. The women cell meets once every month with all stakeholders, including various government agencies.
