Zoomcar unveils doorstep service

 Just like groceries and apparel that are delivered at your doorstep, you can now have a rental car delivered at your doorway.

Zoomcar, a self-drive car rental startup, on Thursday launched doorstep delivery services. With this, customers can get a car delivered and picked up by Zoomcar executives at a location of their choice.

Speaking at the launch, Zoomcar co-founder and CEO Greg Moran said, “We will charge Rs 300 extra for this service. We are constantly upgrading our services and this one will enhance customer comfort.”

The self-drive car rental company was founded in 2013 in Bengaluru with seven cars. Now it has its presence in seven cities with a fleet of more than 2,000 cars. “From a Tata Nano to a Mercedes-Benz, all cars will have this service,” said Moran, adding that in the next 12-18 months, Zoomcar will have its presence in 25-30 cities.

“We are also planning to increase our fleet to nearly 15,000 in another 12-15 months,” he informed.

Zoomcar has around 7.5 lakh customers, of which, around 2.5 lakh are in Bengaluru alone.
