Arunachal guv orders administrative rejig

Days after taking charge of administration under the Presidents’ Rule, Arunachal Pradesh Governor J P Rajkhowa has ordered an administrative reshuffle in the state.

Several key bureaucrats have been transferred and some “efficient” officers have been brought to important positions, government sources added.

The governor’s office said actions have been initiated against a “certain” officer who might have played a role in law and order break down. Meanwhile, in a press release, the governor’s office added that while interacting with representatives from political parties separately, the governor has assured that the President’s rule was only a temporary measure. Sooner or later, a democratically elected government will come, he said.

“Regarding corruption and criminal activities, the specific cases will be directed to be sent to NIA and CBI at the earliest. Necessary actions are being initiated against the officials responsible for the derailing of administration and law and order break down,” a statement from the governor’s office added.

According to sources, Capital Deputy Commissioner Mige Kamki has been posted as Joint Secretary (Labour and Employment, Skill Development) and East Kameng DC Sandeep Kumar Singhh has been made the new DC of Capital complex. Papum Pare DC, Tai Kaye has been posted as Joint Secretary (Transport) and Special Secretary (Labour & Employment, Skill Development) Pooja Jain as Papum Pare DC. Mimum Tayeng, Joint Secretary (AR-Administrative Reform) is relieved of the charge of Joint Secretary (Transport) and will hold the additional charge of the Joint Secretary (Personnel). Tariq Thomas is relieved of the charge of Special Secretary (Personnel).

Pasighat ADC Deepak Shinde has been posted as DC, East Kameng, while Seppa ADC, Rahul Singh will take Shinde’s place.
