A woman from Uttar Pradesh has offered to donate one of her kidneys to Lance Naik Hanumanthappa. The woman, Nidhi Pandey, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri district, about 150 km from here, has reportedly contacted the helpline number issued by some TV channels and made the offer.

Nidhi, who lives in Bijua area of the district, said that she came to know about the jawan’s condition through TV channels. “I came to know that he (Hanumanthappa) may need kidneys...they may have been damaged,” she said.

“I am ready to donate my kidney to the jawan...I want to help him,” Nidhi, who is a housewife, added.
She said that her husband, who worked at a private transport company, had also expressed his desire to donate one of his kidneys. “My husband has already donated his organs...so now I will do the same thing,” Nidhi said.

The locals said that the couple were always ready to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in difficulty. “Hanumanthappa is a brave soldier....he almost died for the country...we should also do our bit,” Nidhi added.
