India Yamaha Motor launched the all new Roadster Motard – Yamaha MT-09 in a bid to strengthen its superbike segment in the Indian market.
The eagerly-anticipated launch took place at the Auto Expo 2016, as bollywood heartthrob John Abraham unveiled the new model much to the excitement and delight of the onlookers.
The MT-09 has been planned and developed as the flagship model of the MT series and is priced at Rs 10,20,000 (ex-showroom in Delhi).
Yamaha’s latest motorcycle will be available at selected dealers across the country. The all new Yamaha MT-09 mounts a newly developed 847cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, in-line triple-cylinder, fuel-injected engine with ABS technology.
Yamaha MT-09 is targeted towards the youth who are looking for excitement, power and style. The fuel efficiency 19 km/litre.
This model will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) by India Yamaha Motor. The year 2015 was a highly successful year for Yamaha as it witnessed 5 per cent growth rate despite a sluggish market.
