4 arrested for robbery at jewellery shop

 The Basaveshwaranagar police recently arrested four persons in connection with the robbery at a jewellery showroom in October 2015.

According to the police, the suspects are Dhananjay, 24 and Ramakrishna, 28, both from Ramanagar, Muthuraj, 26, a resident of Kengeri satellite town and C R Anil Kumar, 27, a native of Mandya. The police have recovered gold and diamonds ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh and a bike. In October 2015, the gang came to the ‘My Kalyan’ showroom and found the salesman alone. They pulled down the shutter, threatened him with a knife, tied him to a chair and made away with the valuables. They also made away with a digital video recorder and the CPU of a computer.

A couple of days ago, the Basaveshwaranagar police found Dhananjay and Muthuraj moving around suspiciously on a bike. The duo were stopped and while checking the vehicle, the police found the valuables hidden in the utility box. They were detained and taken to the police station. During interrogation, they confessed to the robbery. They also revealed the whereabouts of the other two suspects - Kumar and Ramakrishna.
