Shakti Sinha, private secretary to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, has been appointed as director of the Nehru Memorial Museum & Library.
The official announcement on the appointment would be made soon, a source said.
The director’s post was lying vacant for the past year since UPA appointee Mahesh Rangarajan stepped down after the ruling NDA described his appointment as “illegal”.
An IAS officer of the 1979 batch from the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories) cadre, he had taken voluntary retirement in 2013 when he was serving as finance secretary in the Delhi government.
