Last Updated 25 August 2016, 20:27 IST

The Whitefield traffic police arrested a software engineer for obstructing the way by parking his bike right on the middle of the Graphite India Road in Whitefield.

The suspect has been identified as S Nandish, a resident of Rajarajeshwarinagar. Some locals had clicked pictures of the bike parked on the middle of the road. They had shared the pictures with the WhatsApp number of the traffic police. The police arrested him based on the pictures. He was released later, the police said.

“Graphite India Road is one of the busiest stretches in the city. Nandish’s act caused traffic jam on the road for about 15 minutes. Nandish had an argument with local residents when they questioned his act,” a senior police officer said.

During the interrogation, Nandish told the police that he had parked the bike right on the middle of the road as a mark of protest. Several riders rode bikes on the pavement. Hence, he had parked the bike to protest against pavement riding, he claimed.
