Lock those tresses

Lock those tresses

Gone are those days when your hair was the least of your beauty concerns. With the change in environment and the drastic increase in pollution, you have to take good care of your hair — long or short.

Especially since Summer is approaching, we have to get ready to embrace the heat, the pollution and everything else that comes along with it.

Here are some tips to maintain those Goldilocks tresses and enjoy summer in style.

Cover it up: We have gotten used to covering our face with a scarf due to the dust and pollution but it is equally important to protect your hair from damage too. A scarf will provide protection from the UV rays and help your scalp retain its moisture. But if you really want to make a style statement, wear a hat!

Don’t wash too often: Whether we admit it or not, the city does not offer good water. This water can easily damage our hair and cause one to spend more money on expensive treatments. Wash your hair every other day or once in two days. But ensure that you oil your hair and leave it for a couple of hours before washing it off.

Always use conditioner: Washing your hair and shampooing are important but many forget that conditioner is an integral part of hair care. But don’t leave the conditioner on for too long and remember to wash it off thoroughly.

Use a comb: It may be easier to untangle your hair with a brush but a wide-tooth comb is better for your hair. If you have a habit of combing wet hair, make sure that you don’t force the comb to do the untangling for you. It will cause breakage and damage your hair.
