BJP slams CM for his remarks on BSY

The BJP has taken exception to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s remark that its state president B S Yeddyurappa is “most corrupt”.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, BJP state spokesperson S Suresh Kumar said, “Most of the cases against Yeddyurappa have been dismissed by courts. He has been declared innocent by courts. Yet, Siddaramaiah has been repeatedly making remarks about him. We will not tolerate it anymore.”

He, however, stopped short of spelling out what the BJP would do to restrain the Congress from calling Yeddyurappa “corrupt”. He accused the Congress government of indulging in “revenge politics” by trying to revive the criminal cases against Yeddyurappa.

The diary of Congress MLC K Govindaraj, which purportedly has details of payoffs made by state Congress leaders to their national leaders, will have “serious ramifications” for Siddaramaiah. The chief minister is aware of that, he said.

Kumar reiterated the demand for a CBI probe to verify the diaries of Govindaraj and BJP MLC Lahar Singh. He, however, made a distinction between the two documents, saying while Govindaraj’s diary was seized by I-T officials, Singh’s diary was accessed by the Congress from a Facebook post.

Lahar Singh goes to cops
For his part, Singh has filed a complaint at the Sanjaynagar police station in Bengaluru against KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao and other leaders for releasing to the media “false documents” (diary) with his “forged signature.”

Khader’s ‘footwear’ remark flayed
The BJP’s state spokesperson, S Suresh Kumar, took exception to Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader’s remark likening those who opposed Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s visit to Mangaluru to “footwear”. “Khader later said it was a slip of the tongue. How come good remarks never come out of him even by a slip of the tongue?” Kumar asked.
