The Banaswadi police arrested four persons when they were peddling drugs near Kacharakanahalli near Hennur Main Road Tuesday noon.
The arrested are Somanath, Joy Ram, Alok Dhig, all natives of Odisha and G K Vinod, a resident of DJ Halli. The police have seized 30 kg of ganja and 200 gram of charas from them.
Based on credible information, the Banaswadi police went to the spot and found the four persons standing on the pavement with a suitcase. Two of them were holding small packets and were trying to approach people to sell the narcotic substance at higher rates. They were arrested and the substance was seized.
They claimed that they had purchased the substance at lower rates and were trying to sell it to youths at higher prices. They are being questioned to check from where they obtained the substance. It is suspected that the substance was smuggled from Odisha, the police said.
A case has been registered in Banaswadi police station.
