BBMP budget a pack of lies: BJP

Padmanabha Reddy (BJP), leader of the Opposition in BBMP Council, lambasted the Palike administration for not including pending bills and spillover works in the budget this year.

During a discussion over the budget on Monday, Reddy said pending bills worth more than Rs 10,000 crore and spillover works, which should have been included in the budget, have been omitted by the Palike.

“Mayor G Padmavathi had called the BBMP budget as a realistic budget. But the fact is that it is a pack of lies. The budget says that pending bills are just Rs 1,000 crore whereas it remains silent on the pending bills of three to four years,” Reddy charged. He said the size of the budget will be Rs 26,000 crore if the pending bills and spillover works are included.
