3-yr-old girl kidnapped from Jayanagar 1st Block

An unidentified man abducted a three-year-old girl from Dayanandanagar, Jayanagar 1st block on Saturday. The incident occurred near Madiyamma temple, when the child was playing there around 1.30 pm. The abduction has been captured by a CCTV camera installed outside a house in the vicinity.

The suspect offered something to the victim, the daughter of Syed and Shabnam, and lured her to accompany him. He held her hand and took her away.

“I started searching for my daughter as she did not return home. Neighbours told me that a man aged between 15 years and 20 years took away my daughter towards a garage,” Shabnam said.
She went to the garage, but there was no trace of her daughter. Syed’s efforts in tracing the child also did not yield results.

CCTV camera
The owner of the house where the CCTV camera is installed saw the act in the CCTV footage on Sunday morning and alerted Syed. The latter approached the police and lodged a complaint.

“My daughter was taken away from the 7th cross. We searched for her in Wilson Garden and Chinnappanapalya as well, but in vain,” Syed said.

The couple suspected involvement of local residents. “Many youths smoke ganja in the area and commit crimes. One of them may have abducted my daughter,” Shabnam said. The police said a special team has been formed to trace the girl.
