Man suspected of killing wife, her mother still at large

The police are yet to trace Chandrashekhar (27), a weaver by profession, who is absconding after committing a double murder on Car Street in Doddaballapur on Saturday night.

It is said Chandrashekhar killed his pregnant wife Chandrakala (23) and her mother Meenakshamma (45) so as to hide his HIV status.

“We had sent a special team to Bengaluru based on inputs that he was hiding in a friend’s house, but he was not there,” said a police officer.

Bodies of the victims were handed over to the family members after the post mortem. Chandrashekhar’s in-laws weren’t aware that he was suffering from the life-threatening disease. He had married Chandrakala as his family disowned him after learning of his HIV status.
