FMCG company Patanjali group has notched up a turnover of Rs 10,561 crore last year, and aims to double it next fiscal, Baba Ramdev said on Thursday.

Besides, the Haridwar-based company has also planned to expand its footprint across the country, and has set its eyes on a slice of the restaurant sector that has been dominated by numerous multi-national chains.

Patanjali Ayurved that covers products ranging from food, personal care, home care and health care recorded a turnover of Rs 9,346 crore, followed by Divya Yog Pharmacy that deals in ayurvedic medicines (Rs 870 crore) and Patanjali Gramudyog that deals in cattle feed and related products (Rs 345 crore).

Addressing a press conference here, Ramdev announced that Patanjali was setting up production units at Nagpur, Noida, Indore and Jammu and Kashmir.

“We are preparing a comprehensive strategy to launch Patanjali Restaurants and Textiles,” he said, adding that he would soon give multinationals in the sector a run for their money. Ramdev said Patanjali would double its network of distributors to 12,000 by next fiscal, and add more products to the spices, pulses, biscuits, confectionery, juices and vegetable oils segments.
Among various Patanjali products, Desi ghee was the most popular with its annual earning pegged at Rs 1,467 crore, followed by toothpaste Dantkanti that saw annual sales to the tune of Rs 940 crore.
