Delhi Cheif Minister Arvind Kejriwal was on Sunday in the eye of a storm after ousted Minister Kapil Mishra accused him of taking Rs two crore from a Minister Satyendar Jain at his residence when he was present there.

Mishra, who was removed from the Cabinet on Saturday on charges of not properly addressing water problems in the city, also alleged that Jain told him that he settled land deals worth Rs 50 crore for Kejriwal's relatives.

In its reaction, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia described the allegations as "baseless" and which "does not deserve" any response. "He has made many wild allegations. Nobody will believe this. What will you say to such allegations? There is no head or tail to it," Sisodia told reproters.

Mishra's allegations prompted calls for Kejriwal government's resignation from opposition parties BJP and Congress. Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said these are serious charges and time is right to start an investigation against Kejriwal. BJP leader R K Singh demanded the ouster of AAP government.

The allegations are the culmination of the simmering tension in the AAP following electoral debacles in Punjab, Goa and Delhi. This comes days after Kejriwal managed to quell the rebellion started by Kumar Vishwas by giving the latter prominence in the party. Mishra is considered close to Vishwas and had been vocal after the Delhi polls calling for introspection.

The fresh developments may widen the fissures in the party with top leadership likely to face more problems in containing rebellion. Mishra may also face expulsion from the party, which could be fought by his supporters, including Vishwas who on Saturday tweeted in his support.

"Day before yesterday, I saw with on my own eyes, Satyendar Jain handing over Rs two crore to Kejriwal at his residence. I asked Kejriwal what is it and he did not reply. But he said such things happen in politics and it will be told at the appropriate time," Mishra told reporters after he briefed Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and went to Rajghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.

"It has to be explained whose money is this. How this money reached Jain? Has somebody committed a wrongdoing? Kejriwal is a human being and to err is human. If it is by mistake, he should come out in public. He should put all the details in public domain," Mishra said.

He said he was the only minister with no corruption charges. "There is no CBI inquiry against me. I did not give any post to daughter or any relative. I only exposed Sheila Dikshit's corruption,” he said. His reference was about Jain's controversial appointment of his daughter as an advisor.

The day Satyendar Jain lands in jail, I will be proven right. Just wait and watch, Mishra later tweeted.

The 36-year-old activist-turned-politician, who is the son of BJP's former East Delhi Mayor Annapurna Mishra, said he was sacked after he spoke out about corruption in the tanker scam.

His removal came only after he met Kejriwal and raised the issue of him approaching the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the water tanker scam. He said his removal was not discussed during the day when the leaders met.

"When I became minister I sent a report against Sheila Dikshit to CM. What happened to that report after that everyone know," he said.
