The BJP and the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike criticised both the MPs since they took oath in English.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Member of Legislative Council and State government chief whip Dr Shivayogi Swamy said that Moily and Muniyappa should have taken oath in Kannada respecting the sentiments of the citizens of the State. “By taking oath in English they have neglected Kannada,” he alleged.

KRVhas gone a step further demanding that the Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa and Law Minister Veerappa Moily should apologise, failing which they threatened to stage intense agitation.

KRV district General Secretary M K Raghavendra, in a press release, has stated that the MPs will not be allowed to participate in any programmes in the State till they rendered apology to the Kannadigas.
