Indira Canteen: Tahsildar told to conduct survey

The high court on Wednesday directed tahsildar, Bengaluru South, to conduct a survey and identify the piece of land which is allegedly encroached upon by BBMP to construct an Indira Cante­en.

The petitioner, K A Krishnamurty, has contended that BBMP has encroached upon the 20,000 sqft of land at Venkoji Rao Layout near Koramangala. The BBMP claimed that it is using just 5,000 odd sqft from the total area of 50,000 sqft of land in the area for constructing the canteen.

The BBMP’s counsel said that the petitioner does not even have his property docume­nts to prove that he owns that piece of land. 

Justice Vineet Kothari directed tahsildar, Bengaluru South, to conduct a survey and submit the report on August 30.
