600 students attend US education fair in city

More than 600 students from across Karnataka attended the first education fair organised by EducationUSA-Yashna Trust in the city on Sunday.  

EducationUSA is a US Department of State-supported network of more than 400 advising centres around the world which offer comprehensive information on opportunities for higher education in the States.

Thirty-two  accredited US universities such as Arizona State University, University of Southern California, Full Sail University, Ohio Wesleyan University and Drexel University took part in the fair.  

Students sought information on traditional engineering programmes, and even non-traditional ones such as animation, social leadership, game designing and development, and graphic designing. The fair was inaugurated by Vice Consul, American Consulate in Chennai, who offered a useful session on the F-1 student visa process. The consulate strongly recommended that prospective students consult EducationUSA as a credible source of information and guidance on higher education in the United States.
