Anxious moments were witnessed at the railway station here when a coach got detached from a moving train on Tuesday.

The Chamundi Express train was bound for Bengaluru from Mysuru, when the last coach got detached from the moving train at around 7.15 am. As there was a stoppage for the train at Pandavapura station, the train was moving slowly and a tragedy was averted.

Acting swiftly, the railway officials attached the coach to the train. The train left the station after a delay of 10 minutes.

E Vijaya, deputy general manager (general), South Western Railway, said, "There was a loose coupling between two coaches, which was immediately noticed and rectified by the assistant loco pilot and the guard. The overall detention of the train between the stations is seven minutes."
