Four suspected Maoists produced before court

Four suspected Maoists were produced before the District and Sessions court on Friday in connection with the Boja Shetty murder case which took place on May 15, 2008.

The charges framed against the four were disapproved by the accused, following which the court adjourned the case for fixing the trial on March 12 .

The four accused are Eshwar alias Veeramani, who was prisoned at Coimbatore jail, Ramesh who was jailed in Parappana Agrahara in Bengaluru and Neelaguni Padhbhanabha and Sanjeev Kumar from Pavagada.

The charges that were fixed by the police were read out and the accused disapproved. Public prosecutor Shanthibai and counsel for accused Shantharam Shetty were present. Both the accused who were in jail were later taken to their respective destinations. Shetty said that Veeramani has already been granted bail by the High Court. However, he has to arrange for the surety.

As many as four cases in Kerala, five in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, including that of Boja Shetty murder case is pending against Veeramani.
