Ahmedabad, dhns: VHP leader Pravin Togadia, who had gone "missing" since Monday morning, was late in the night traced to a private hospital in Shahibaug area, about 15-km from his organisational office here.

"I met him and he said that he had a problem with low blood sugar. His situation is stable. There is no other reason to worry.

"We are also carrying out a parallel investigation on how he has been brought here (to the hospital) via ambulance," Ashok Yadav, ACP, told media persons.

According to information available, Togadia was picked up from outside a temple in an isolated Kotarpur area near highway by an ambulance in a semi-conscious situation.

The 108 ambulance services received a call from an unknown person giving information about the location of Togadia.

Earlier in the day, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists led a series of protests across the state after it was reported that Togadia, who has Z-plus security protecting him, had gone missing from his organisation's office.

They blocked roads and forced people out of city and state transport buses on Monday evening in Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat.

Trouble began after news of the "arrest" of Togadia by Ganganagar Police of Rajasthan in a 10-year-old case started doing the rounds. Several VHP workers gathered at Sola Police Station here, whose personnel were said to have accompanied Rajasthan Police to arrest the VHP leader.
