Former mayor Ramchandrappa, former MP Tejaswini and former minister H M Revanna were seated along with the corporators even though they are not elected representatives.
Asked why the trio were allowed to be present, BBMP officials said the House, during the election process, was not in order and hence it was alright for them to be there. But, later the same officials were dumbstruck when the three sat through the first meeting of the Council.
Isn’t it a violation of the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act? “It definitely seems to be a violation. Once the Mayor takes charge, it would mean that the House is in order,” said a confused Palike official.
