Eight persons sustained grievous injuries while a few others suffered minor injuries in a mishap during the car festival of a village deity in Ballari district on Saturday evening.
Over 30 people were witnessing the rathotsava of Vishwanath Swamy at Somasamudra in Kuragodu taluk from the terrace of a house. The terrace caved in bringing down more than 20 people.
The villagers rushed the injured to a local hospital. The injured are said to be out of danger.
The Kuragodu police have registered a case.
