JD(S) alleges land grab attempt by Sampangi

The protesters, led by former legislagor Bhaktavatsalam alleged that Sampangi has been making attempts to take illegal possession of 24 acres 14 guntas of forest land situated in Madinakanahalli, with the aid of tahsildar Dr Dakshayani.

Bhaktavatsalam alleged that land in question was being barricaded by constructing a compound wall and axing the standing eucalyptus trees. While the Forest Department was citing the land as its property, the entry in the pahani has suddenly changed showing the land as gomala. He suspected the role of revenue officials too and sought an investigation into the affair.

Allegations denied
However, MLA Sampangi, in a press statement, has refuted the allegations as baseless. He has said that a few people, who lost their deposit in the Gram Panchayat elections were engaged in levelling such false allegations against him, with a malafide intention and to tarnish his image.
