Govt to frame rules to curb donations

Replying to a question from N L Narendra Babu (Cong), Kageri said the Government was committed to root out the donation menace and would soon frame rules under the central legislation to crack the whip on private schools collecting donations.

He said the Government would soon constitute a task force to check collection of donations.
Kageri admitted that there had been a delay in supply of textbooks to private schools. He attributed it to the delay in remittance of demand drafts (DDs) for the purchase of the textbooks by private school managements.

“Remittance of DDs were to be made by February this year but many managements are yet to send their DDs even today,” Kageri said.
