Marshy field race enthrals villagers

It was a visual treat to view the contestants trying their best to reach the victory point in running race competition. As rains gave a break, the village folk irrespective of their age and sex participated in the fun filled paddy field sports that was organised for the first time in Kanive village. The sight of children trying their best to win the prize, breath taking tug of war competitions aroused the curiosity of audience.

Zilla Pachayat Member H N Ashok who inaugurated the event asked the villagers to popularise and promote the rural sports for the generations to come.
Columnist Bharadwaj Ananadatheertha suggested the audience to celebrate Kesaru Gadde sports with full grandeur from the next year. “These kind of events helps to develop harmony among the people,” he said. 

Meanwhile, Hebbale Gram Panchayat President H N Rajashekhar was felicitated during the occasion. Various sports like running race, volley ball, tug of war were held. Kanive block Raitha Sangha President H H Sumrad presided over the function. Secretary Shiragaje Naveen, Raitha Sangha members K R Lokesh, K N Nagendra and others were present.
