Farmers advised to avail bank credit

Speaking at a programme to disburse loans to farmers here on Saturday, he said nationalised banks extend loans for various farming activities and suggested the beneficiaries to utilise the money for the purpose it was intended to.

He said farmers should also look for other profitable avenues and attempt to repay loans on time.

The exponential growth in population coupled with declining food productivity and depleting groundwater would assume major proportion in the coming days, Nataraj apprehended.

“Conservation of land, water and environment is the primary duty of every citizen. Farmers too should adopt eco-friendly modern techniques,” he said.
