Addressing a news conference here, he said former PM and Hassan MP, H D Deve Gowda, ZP members, legislators and other elected representatives would participate in the proposed dharna.

The government needs to release Rs 8 to 10 crore for implementation of drinking water schemes in current fiscal. Even, the funds for Nabard schemes too has not been released.
The bills of PWD worth crores of rupees were yet to be cleared. This has hampered developmental works in the district.  Besides, the State Government owes Rs 34 crore to complete the developmental works of the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS).

The delay in release of funds indicate the State treasury is empty and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa who also holds Finance portfolio has failed to manage the State’s finance effectively.

“ This is the second time, the party  is warning the CM to fulfill long pending demands of the district. But the CM seems to have turned blind idea.  Previously, the JD(S) postponed the agitation because of byelections to Kadur and Gulbarga. This time the party is firm in its stand and will not call off stir till the demands are met”, he added.

Probe

The former minister also demanded a probe by Lokyukta regarding recruitment scams in several medical colleges across State. The probe should be held from the commencement of all those engineering colleges.

The former Medical Education Minister Ramachandra Gowda has been made a ‘scapegoat’ by the government. Many others were involved in this scam and they should also tender resignation owing moral responsibility.

Instead of punishing the guilty, Yeddyurappa was yet to file a criminal case against any official of any medical college.
