<p>New Delhi: <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/rahul-gandhi">Rahul Gandhi</a> on Friday told Congress spokespersons and TV panellists to be aggressive while presenting the party’s views and exposing the BJP but not to fall into the saffron party’s trap.</p><p>During a training session with the party's public faces at Indira Bhavan in New Delhi, he said that they need not be defensive and must ensure the Congress receives credit for the caste census, which the Narendra Modi government announced "under pressure".</p><p>Amid questions about the party's past stance — where Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi were not in agreement with the caste census — he said that previous Congress governments had provided for OBC quota well before the Mandal era. It is designed to help the BJP. They will put BJP-leaning journalists or analysts during debates but you should not lose focus. I am aware that you are working very well in this atmosphere," he said.</p><p>Rahul said that Congress leaders stand apart from their BJP counterparts because they have facts and history on their side, something they must highlight.</p><p>"You are up against less knowledgeable people, and you don’t need to stoop to their level. Present your point strongly," he said, adding that achieving something big often comes with some personal losses.</p>
