AC flayed for vacating kaval land

Samiti President Rajappa said that there are 11 villages which come under Amrith Mahal kaval land which are proposed to be vacated. These villages include Islampura, Gopalpura, Chikkalaghatta, Galigutti, Shivapura, Koracharahatti, Hanumanahalli, Srirampura, Rangenahalli, Gandhinagar and Shakunipura. As per the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, 445 people were given title deeds for 1,056 acre of land in 1985-86. Apart from this from 1991 to 1995, 271 people were given title deeds.

There are several acres of land which has not been allotted to anybody and the people who have ben cultivating these lands for over 50 years has occupancy over it. The farmers have grown areca and coconut in 2,500 acre and sugarcane, potatoes, tomatoes and sunflower have been cultivated in remaining land.

Yemmedoddi Nagarika Hitharakshana Samiti President Rajappa and members submitted a memorandum to AC, Tahshildar and Department of Animal Husbandry saying that District Administration and Taluk Administration are conspiring to vacate the farmers.
