<p>Sankalpa, a training centre set up on the premises of University College of Visual Arts will conduct coaching classes for those who are keen to take up various competitive examinations including UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for free, said MP Prabha Mallikarjun.</p><p>A first of its kind in the state, such a training institute has been set up by Davangere University under the PPP model to train candidates for competitive exams. </p><p>She was speaking after inaugurating the centre in a programme jointly organised by district administration, Davangere University, S S Care Trust and IAS Baba Coaching Centre, here on Friday.</p><p>She said, skilled and resourceful individuals would conduct coaching classes for those who are keen to appear for competitive exams like banking, PSI and others. </p><p><strong>SS Care Trust to fund</strong></p><p>The centre has been started here in association with the IAS Baba Coaching Centre. She said that the coaching centre will be funded by the SS Care Trust and the centre will provide free coaching, MP said.</p><p>Explaining further, she said, interested candidates have to register through Google Form on www.IASbaba.com by July 24. A written test will be conducted in Davangere on July 29 for those who have registered.</p><p>The results will be declared in two days and 300 candidates will be selected for training. Classes will start from August 4, she informed.</p><p><strong>‘Will give land for IT cos’</strong></p><p>On IT firms willing to come to Davangere, MP said “We are ready to provide ten acres of land. There is also an opportunity to use the building of the Smart City Mission. A search has been made for 10 to 30 acres of land for IT and BT companies. In addition to this, we are trying to develop Brand Davangere. We will ensure that IT and BT companies set up their offices in the city this year itself. It would have been convenient if the airport had been built long ago”, she observed.</p><p>Noticing many showing interest towards cracking competitive exams in the district, we decided to come out with this project. </p><p>“The district in-charge minister has given Rs 80 lakh towards this,” said DC GM Gangadharaswamy.</p><p>He said that books will be provided free of cost to the selected students and the centre will be under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer and the Superintendent of Police. </p><p>Deputy Commissioner also assured that hostel facility will also be started to accommodate students from neighbouring districts. Training will be offered for PSI, KAS, IAS, bank, railway exams at free of cost, he claimed.</p><p>Mohan of IAS Baba Coaching Institute was also present. </p>
