However, no passenger received any injury as all of them had already off boarded the train when the incident occurred.

“Luckily the train caught fire almost ten to fifteen minutes after arrival. It could have been disastrous had the incident occurred while the express train was on the move”, a railway official said.
 
As soon as smoke was noticed from one of the bogies, of the train the station staff immediately informed the local fire office which swung into action and doused the fire which was suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit in the air-conditioning system of the Rajsdhani Express.

However, an inquiry into the matter has already been ordered, sources in the East Coast railways said.
