A statue of Donald Trump dressed as Buddha is trending on a Chinese e-commerce website

The statues cost anywhere between Rs 11,000 to Rs 44,000 depending on the size

If the four years of Donald Trump as US President have shown anything, it's that he is a far cry from the image of calm and collected Buddha.

But that has not stopped a statue of Trump dressed and sitting like Buddha from trending on Chinese online shopping website, Taobao.

According to a report by the Global Times, the statue shows Trump with a contemplative face, sitting with both hands resting on his lap, with the title "Trump, who knows Buddhism better than anyone" by the seller. The product is listed for 999 Yuan ($153 or Rs 11,112) to Yuan 3,999 ($616 or Rs 44,740) depending on the size.

The seller told the publication that the statue reminded him of Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again", and given that he often claimed he knew about things more than anyone, the seller decided to make the statue into something auspicious for Chinese companies, with the tag "make your company great again".

The seller said that they made only 100 of the statue, but have already sold dozens since people "bought it just for fun".

A person who bought the statue said he bought it for fun and put it on his home desk as decoration. "Trump can also be regarded as a representative of an era and extreme egoism. Now the era has passed but I want the statue to remind me: Don't be too Trump," the buyer told the publication.
