Kerala chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena is under attack from the Left Front in Kerala for initiating action against party workers for bogus voting.

Legal actions have been initiated so far against four Left Front workers in Kerala for bogus voting at Kasaragod constituency.

During a meeting of the CPM state committee here on Friday, allegations were reportedly made that Meena was showing unusual haste in taking action against party workers, even as bogus voting complaints were also raised against workers of the Indian Union Muslim League. CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had earlier openly criticised the officer.

Meanwhile, Meena said on Friday that legal actions were being taken against three IUML workers too for bogus voting. He added that he was acting as per the reports being received from the returning officers concerned and there were no personal or political interests.
