In yet another milestone for Trinamool Congress, the political party has received a large number of interested queries for internship from nowhere less than the Indian Institute of Management. The party will choose a handful from the lot and offer them internships.

Students from the premier business school want to become a part of the hustle bustle of the party’s war room during the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and want to pick up a few tips on enhancing their managerial skills.

Derek O’Brien, Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP and spokesman, said that 31 IIM students have expressed interest in interning during the poll season.

Out of the 31 applications Trinamool has received, only two will be selected for the two-month-long internship, which begins on March 15, O’Brien said. “The response to our call for internships has been overwhelming. We had sought applications from only final year students but 17 first year students also applied. We have shortlisted 14 final year management students,” he told reporters.

The shortlisted applicants will have to participate in a group discussion, which will be conducted by five core members of the party.
