On the inaugural day of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Executive, PM Narendra Modi will hold a roadshow which will make its way from Parliament Street to the NDMC Convention Centre, where the two-day meet will be held, passing through the main thoroughfares of Central Delhi.

Party leaders said that a mobilisation of a lot of people is expected, and the walk will have several troupes of artistes performing to welcome the prime minister. “We are also expecting a huge number of party workers who will be standing along the route of the roadshow,” a party leader said.

Expecting a huge turnout, the Delhi Police has also issued a traffic advisory, announcing some diversions. “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organising a road show having mass public participation on Sansad Marg from R/A Patel Chowk to Sansad Marg/Jai Singh Road Junction on 16.01.2023 from 1500 hrs. onwards. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India will grace the said road show with his presence. Special Traffic arrangements will be in place to ensure smooth traffic management in the vicinity of the roadshow route,” the advisory stated.

The party’s National Executive, held after the last meet in June in Hyderabad, will focus on the nine assembly elections scheduled for 2023, especially the three Northeastern states – Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura – where polls will be held next month. The party’s preparations for the elections in other key states, including Karnataka, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, will be in focus as well.

In addition to that, the BJP’s preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, including the Lok Sabha pravas programme, the vistarak system, and booth-strengthening exercises will be part of the deliberations. Apart from that, ways to highlight India’s G20 presidency, especially in a pre-election year will feature in the Executive Meet.

The party will pass two key resolutions – one on political developments and another on economic matters at the national executive.
