Students sodomise 5 juniors in school

A group of boys from Class 9 and 10 studying at a Gurukul boarding school in Haryana's Rohtak have been accused of sodomising at least five of their junior students from Class 5 and 6.

Some of the victims said they were sexually exploited by the seniors on campus for nearly a year.

All the victims are below 9 years of age and are undergoing counseling by experts.

The victimised boys said they were often picked up at night and taken to the terrace or to the bathroom where they were sodomised by the seniors.

They were beaten and threatened if they resisted.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections, including the Protection of Children from Sexually Offences Act.

The accused will be produced before the court on Tuesday.

The incident came to light on Rakshabandhan when the mother and sister of one of the victims visited the campus.

The boy started crying profusely in front of his family. He pleaded with his mother to take him out of the school, following which he revealed how the attack has been happening.

The distraught mother created a hue and cry, after which four other students of Class 5 and 6 came forward and described the continued attacks on them.

The police have also booked the school staffers in the case.
