JOIN USMP Navneet Rana dares Maharashtra CM Thackeray to contest election against her
As she walked out of the hospital, Independent MP from Amravati Navneet Kaur Rana on Sunday dared Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray to contest elections against her and get elected.
Navneet Kaur Rana’s husband, three-time Independent MLA from Badnera Ravi Rana lashed out at the Thackeray government for insulting and harassing a lady representative.
The Rana couple also plans to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the treatment meted out to them by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
“I challenge Uddhav Thackeray ji elected directly by people. Let him choose the constituency of his choice…I will fight against him…I will work hard with honesty and win the election, and he will know the power of the people,” Navneet Kaur Rana said.
She also made it clear that she would contest against the Shiv Sena in the ensuing polls to the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation, which has been under the control of the Shiv Sena for a quarter of a century. “I will go wherever needed to end this Lanka of corruption,” she said.
“If chanting Hanuman Chalisa is a crime, then why only 14 days, I am ready to go to jail for 14 years,” she said.\
According to her, Mumbaikars, Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman will teach the Shiv Sena a lesson in the civic polls.
Targeting Shiv Sena chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut, she said, “….that ‘popat’ (parrot) said in Nagpur that he would bury me 20 feet under the ground… just wait and see, with the Lanka of corruption they have erected in the BMC, the people of Mumbai and Maharashtra will dump them 20 feet below the earth.”
Ravi Rana described Raut as “chawanni-chapp” and said that he and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anil Parab would go to jail.
Police to move court
The Mumbai Police, however, is expected to move the Mumbai City Civil & Sessions Court. “When they were granted bail, point no 3 specifically mentions that they should not speak to the media. I have read the condition again and I have seen clips of their interaction with the media. It clearly violates the conditions imposed by the court. And, hence, we are duty-bound to inform the court of the developments,” Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said.
