Now, it has launched a new feature that will allow users to pre-mute a video before tapping the send button. The company made the announcement on Twitter.

"For your eyes, not your ears. You can now mute the audio on your videos before adding them to your Status or sending them in chat. Now available on Android," WhatsApp said.

WhatsApp users can find the new 'mute' option for videos in the editing section. Just have to tap on the speaker icon before he/she can forward them to friends or family.

Once enabled, forwarded videos will be muted by default for the receiver.

This will come in handy for users attending a meeting or present in a place of worship and view the content while viewing content without the worry of disturbing the peace of the session.

In a related development, WhatsApp is expected to bring audio and video calling options on the web version soon.
