The third additional district judge on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Karnatak University Vice Chancellor H B Walikar who was arrested by the Lokayukta police three days ago under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Special Lokayukta Judge H S Ballolli, while denying bail to Walikar, however, granted conditional bail to three other officials of the university – Registrar (Evaluation) H T Pote, Finance Officer S Rajashri and Walikar’s personal assistant Shivannad Bilgi.
The Lokayukta police took the four into custody on Monday.
